This is a very good experience for writers at all stages. The best way for a poet to start making their poetry known to the world is to submit their writing into a poetry digest. Don't just pick any digest to submit your work into, submit your work into a digest that has an incredible reputation. Even then, you are not guaranteed fame overnight, or ever. Fame is something that you will have to work at.
